Shelter Repair, Emergency Tents & NFI Kits in Gaza | Al-Tayseer Relief UK

Why this matters

Restoring Shelter, Safety & Dignity for Displaced Families
Over 70% of residential structures in Gaza have suffered severe or partial damage. Tens of thousands of homes remain partially habitable but lack walls, roofs, windows, or basic plumbing. Families living in damaged homes endure extreme cold, draft, rain leakage, and lack of privacy.

Al-Tayseer Trust’s Shelter & Infrastructure Program conducts light shelter rehabilitation, installs prefabricated shelter units, and provides Essential Non-Food Items (NFI).

Key Shelter & Infrastructure Interventions
• Light Home Rehabilitation: Sealing breached walls with timber framing, heavy tarpaulins, installing temporary doors, windows, and indoor privacy dividers.
• Emergency Tents & Prefab Units: Deploying durable dome tents and wooden portakabins with insulated roofs for displaced families.
• Essential Household NFI Kits: Supplying complete kitchen utensil sets (pots, pans, plates, cutlery) and bedding sets.
• Debris Clearing & Solar Lighting: Clearing rubble from access roads to medical clinics and installing solar-powered streetlights in displacement camps.

Cash-for-Work Economic Stimulation
Shelter repairs employ local Palestinian carpenters, masons, and laborers through Cash-for-Work initiatives, providing local families with dignified work while restoring community infrastructure.
