Charity Kitchen (Tekiye) & Food Security Program in Gaza | Al-Tayseer Relief UK

Why this matters

Fighting Hunger & Severe Food Insecurity in Gaza
Food insecurity has reached critical levels across Gaza. Displaced families living in makeshift shelters lack cooking gas, cooking pots, and affordable groceries. Without hot, cooked food, malnutrition rates among children and nursing mothers continue to climb.

Al-Tayseer Trust’s Food Security Program operates high-capacity Charity Kitchens (Tekiyes) and mobile meal distribution points delivering thousands of hot meals daily.

Main Pillars of Food Assistance
1. Charity Kitchen (Tekiye) Hot Meals: Daily cooking of fresh rice with chicken/meat and stews served directly to families in camps.
2. Communal Cooking Tents: Fully equipped communal kitchen tents within displacement camps providing safe cooking infrastructure.
3. Dry Food Parcels: Essential food hampers containing oil, rice, lentils, canned goods, sugar, tea, and dates.
4. Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Baskets: Locally sourced produce boxes rich in vitamins for growing children.
5. Flour & Bread Distribution: Regular supply of wheat flour bags and fresh daily bread bundles.

Local Procurement Advantage
Al-Tayseer purchases ingredients directly from Gaza’s local farmers and traders wherever available, stimulating the local economy while circumventing border delays to ensure rapid meal delivery.
