Zakat

Pay your zakat

Give your zakat with confidence. Zakat given to this campaign is kept separate and spent only on people eligible to receive zakat.

Why this matters

Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam. This campaign is only for zakat, so your zakat is recorded and spent as zakat, separate from our other campaigns.

Who receives your zakat

Zakat may only be given to the eight groups named in the Quran (At-Tawbah 9:60):

  • The poor and the needy
  • People who collect and distribute zakat
  • People whose hearts are to be brought closer
  • Freeing people from bondage
  • People in debt they cannot repay
  • In the way of Allah
  • Travellers who are stranded

Through our partners, we give your zakat mainly to poor and needy families.

How much do I pay?

Zakat is 2.5% of your qualifying wealth once it has stayed above the nisab for a full lunar year. Our calculator works it out for you and fills in the amount.
